How to View a Warranty and Log an Annual Inspection
Your customers must return once yearly for their annual inspection, which includes: a car wash, a decontamination, a visual inspection of the coating, and a layer of Sport (to the discretion of the installer, depending on the condition of the coating). While your customer can go to any certified installer, most like to return to the shop where they had the coating applied. We ask that you record customer inspections onto the warranty for record keeping, and documented inspections can make a customer's warranty claim go smoothly if a claim is needed.
- Search the vehicle’s VIN under the Warranties tab to view the warranty, then click on Inspections (Next to Warranty Info) and New Inspection. Reminder: the Warranties tab will filter to show your own shop's warranties first; to view a warranty registered by another installer please remove the filter by: Clicking the filter button on the right, then for the "Only own" filter click the X next to TRUE.
- Add the inspection information
- Add the date of the inspection. You can click the calendar icon and select the date if the inspection was not performed today.
- Add the Items inspected by clicking the checkboxes.
- The “Warranty still valid” checkbox is automatically checked, if for any reason the customer’s warranty is void, please uncheck this box
- Add any Inspection results notes. This is where you can document any issues, notes for the next installer, or comment on an exceptionally maintained coating!
- Click Save
Notes:
- If you couldn't find the customer's warranty, it may not have been registered OR the installer may have misspelled the VIN (i.e., I instead of 1). It's a good idea to ask the customer if they received a confirmation email or reminder email - if they did, that points to a misspelling rather than no registered warranty
